Blizzard Entertainment recently hosted BlizzCon 2026, which was easily one of the biggest showcases in recent years for them.
Revealing the most anticipated Diablo 5 game, surprised fans with a brand-new StarCraft game, new major updates for WoW and Overwatch. Let’s check out the whole lineup for this event in this article.

Diablo 5
Blizzard revealed a cinematic trailer for Diablo 5, also celebrating the franchise’s 30th anniversary. In the trailer, we can see the return of Lord of Terror, who is bringing sanctuary for another battle. This game is currently targeting a 2029 release.
Brand new StarCraft game
This is going to be an open-world first-person shooter which will be set in the StarCraft universe. In the cinematic trailer, we can see Terran Dominion soldiers battling against the Zerg.
The game is currently targeting a 2030 release. Sadly, no gameplay footage has been revealed.
Diablo 4 new season & Nintendo Switch 2 port
Diablo 4 is getting a new season, Season of Hell’s Legacy, which is scheduled to release on September 15, 2026.
Confirming previous rumors and reports, Diablo 4 is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2, and Amazon Class will join the game in the first half of 2027.
Overwatch new hero: Doctrine
A new support hero has been announced for Overwatch, Doctrine. This character uses drones to heal teammates and boost their attack speed.
Blizzard is also reworking Sombra and Roadhog. They have also announced a new map called Watchpoint: Grimsvotn that will arrive in Season 5.
Hearthstone
This game is also receiving a major expansion, Black Empire, on October 20, 2026. A new storyline will be introduced and 2v2 multiplayer will also be added.
A monk class is coming in 2027, while Battlegrounds will receive a new Aberrations minion type on September 22.
World of Warcraft’s future
World of Warcraft: Midnight’s next chapter is going to introduce Eclipse. This will continue the Worldsoul Saga.
World of Warcraft: The Last Titan has also been teased, which is scheduled for 2027. World of Warcraft: Forever, a “Classic-Plus” experience inspired by the original game.
WoW Forever is also going to launch on November 4, 2026 and the beta will start on September 17, 2026.
Heroes of the Storm
Xal’atath is going to join Heroes of the Storm as the playable hero on September 28, 2026.
You can already test the hero through the Public Test Realm, which will start on September 14, 2026.
Diablo heading to Netflix
At BlizzCon 2026, the Diablo game is also getting an animated series exclusively for Netflix.
For now, no release date or production details have been shared. The adaptation is already in development and more series will receive the same treatment in the future.
Warcraft 3
At BlizzCon 2026, Forsaken Kingdom has been announced. This is a new campaign that will explore the fall of Lordaeron and the rise of Undercity. Fans can expect more than 30 hours of gameplay.
