Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios’ upcoming reboot game, Fable, is all set to launch on February 27, 2027, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Along with a new gameplay reveal at Gamescom 2026, the developers have also confirmed that the main story will take around 20 hours to complete.
Unlike modern open-world RPGs that typically take more hours to complete along with side missions, this reboot appears to be a little shorter and will focus on the main story and exploration.

During a Gamescom 2026 Q&A session from Polygon Games, PlayGround Games has confirmed that the game’s main questline will take around 20 hours.
Associate Game Director Will Kennedy said that the game has about 15-20 hours of first-person story mode, with an additional 15-20 hours of side missions and open-world play.
This will allow those players who want to do everything outside of the main story to enjoy a much longer journey in Albion.
