Square Enix provides a positive update!
Although for now Final Fantasy 15 has not been announced for the Nintendo Switch 2, but in future it might happen. During a recent shareholder meeting Q&A, Square Enix addressed some questions.
This also involved bringing up the 2016 RPG to the latest Nintendo Switch console. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Trilogy is already confirmed to be coming to Switch 2 and the modern Fantasy title might also follow suit in the future.
Final Fantasy 15 Switch 2 port is possible
According to a translated response from Square Enix’s shareholder meeting held on June 24, 2026, they have acknowledged that the game could technically run on Nintendo Switch 2.
However, they have also revealed that there are several hardware-related challenges. Due to this limitation, creating a similar experience that you get on PC, PlayStation and Xbox won’t be that easy.
Despite all this, Square Enix has also said that the project is “not entirely impossible.” They are going to forward this message to the development team as part of future platform decisions.
Third-party support continues for Switch 2
We are slowly getting more and more third-party games on Nintendo Switch 2. Square Enix is already going with the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Trilogy and might bring more games in the future.
Stellar Blade is arriving on the platform; Onimusha: The Way of the Sword is confirmed; Kingdom Hearts 4 will be playable on the platform and more.

With Square Enix providing a positive update on Final Fantasy 15 Switch 2 port, we might see the game in the future. For now, they have not confirmed that the port is in development or any type of release date.
Meanwhile, Final Fantasy 7: Revelation is also scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027.
