Great news for Final Fantasy fans! Square Enix has now officially confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will get a new look at the Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live event.
This new presentation will be led by the game director Naoki Hamaguchi on August 25, 2026, at the Opening Night Live event hosted by Geoff Keighley.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation returns with a new spotlight
The official social media account of Final Fantasy made an announcement in which they confirmed that Hamaguchi will reveal a new look of the game in the upcoming Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live event.
For now, the company has not exactly revealed what they are going to show, but fans expect this to be new gameplay footage, story teases or a deeper look at the open world and combat.
Gamescom Opening Night Live is one of the biggest gaming industry events, and this is the perfect way to showcase the upcoming action RPG game in front of everyone.
Final chapter of the remake trilogy
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is the final part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The director has already shared many details about the game’s development and has also confirmed that Revelation will serve as the conclusion for their Remake trilogy.
The primary story should be finished at launch, but Hamaguchi has stated in the past that he would still like to be interested in downloadable content after launch if it is possible.
Any possible DLC for the game, however, would be more likely to be based on the expansion of the world or characters instead of the main story.
