The highly anticipated final chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 remake, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, has an official release date. The game will launch on April 8, 2027, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation: New gameplay revealed
Apart from the release date trailer, Square Enix also revealed the brand-new gameplay footage that featured several party members, including Cloud, Barret, Yuffie, Cid, and Vincent Valentine.
In the gameplay, players can see the new powerful enemies and battle & combat mechanics with a lot of improvements.
Several iconic locations were also confirmed in the trailer, especially Wutai.
More combat freedom
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will have a brand-new FITS system. This will allow you to assign one of the four combat roles to each party member. Here are the roles:
- Warrior
- Knight
- Black Mage
- Summoner
These role will change characters’ abilities and their combat style. Now, you can have more flexibility around your party build.
Major upgrade in exploration
Players will now have access to Highwind much earlier in the story. This will make your travel across the world more seamless. There are also several new traversal mechanics:
- Parachuting directly from the Highwind to the ground
- A Grappling Gun for vertical exploration
- Easier access to rooftops and hidden areas
Queen’s Blood returns
Fan-favourite card game, Queen’s Blood, is also making a comeback in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. This will have a new storyline tailored around Red XIII.
