The game is officially releasing on November 10, 2026
The Football Manager 27 free launch preview is finally here, giving fans an early opportunity to test the new Manager simulation football game from Sports Interactive.
Football Manager 26 was very disappointing for the fans and even for the developers. Expectations were kinda low for the new game, but the free launch preview shows the game has made huge improvements.
However, the game still needs more work, as many fans believe that it can get more improvements and fixes before the launch.

Positives and negatives from Football Manager 27 free launch preview
The biggest positive improvement that this game has made is that the overall interface is now more organized compared to the old FM 26.
The new navigation bar, with sections such as Portal and Squad, makes navigating through menus easier. The game also does a little better job of providing up-to-the-minute information about football in action across the globe, showing transfer news, league tables and results of other games without having to go through several menus.
Some welcome changes are the increased customization options – news feeds, match stats, and other parts of the UI can be customized. In matches, almost all strategic options are seen on a single screen, making it easier than ever to make tactical changes.
Despite the improvements, Football Manager 27’s free launch preview still feels rough overall. Most of the complaints are related to the User Interface.
There are complaints about the default color palette and font choices, which make the menu difficult to read. It may even cause eye strain during longer sessions.
The interface also feels cluttered and requires too many clicks to complete a simple action.
Performance is also a worry. However, the 3D match engine is said to be unable to provide smooth animations even with the most powerful PC’s that have the latest graphics cards and ample RAM.
Match highlights may be choppy, which will lead to poor overall presentation. The player models are also still quite dated and ‘old school’ looking and regenerated faces are even lower up the list of expectations for a modern sports game.
Conclusion
In addition to the graphics, there seems to be little change in many of the old systems that govern gameplay. The player presentations, AI transfer behavior, team talks, press conferences and reputation mechanics are still repetitive and need a massive overhaul.
The management experience itself is not seen to have been enhanced enough, though many fans feel that’s what Football Manager 27 has been focusing on a lot.
Is Football Manager 27 better than FM26?

Players have criticized the UI colors, font readability, sluggish navigation, inconsistent 3D match engine performance, outdated player models, and the lack of major improvements to core gameplay systems.
Has the 3D match engine improved in FM27?
While some visual improvements are present, many players report that animations still feel choppy, even on high-end gaming PCs.
