The new update is here!
With the start of the new year, Fortnite is ready to go for its first major update which will bring the 33.20 version of chapter 6 season 1. This will bring some of the iconic characters like Godzilla and Hatsune Miku into the game.
Before the update, the game server will close and will go on under maintenance. In this article, we will talk about the server downtime timings, what fans can expect and more details.
Server Downtime Schedule for Fortnite v33.20
- The servers will be down at 9 a.m. GMT / 4 a.m. EST / 1 a.m. PST on Tuesday, January 14.
- Disable Matchmaking: Matchmaking will be disabled about 30 minutes before downtime, at 8:30 am GMT / 3:30 am EST / 12:30 am PST.
- The downtime is scheduled to last three to four hours, with servers likely back online by 1 pm GMT / 8 am EST / 5 am PST at the latest.
What fans can expect?
Here are some of the things and features that you can expect in the new update:
- Hatsune Miku appears at the Fortnite Festival with her own Festival mini-pass, which includes the special Neko Hatsune Miku skin. Fans may enjoy new songs including “M@gical ☆Cure! Loveshot,” “Daisy 2.0,” “Miku,” and “World is Mine,” as well as two new emotes, Miku Live and Miku Miku Beam.
- Instruments as Cosmetics: Fortnite Festival instruments now double as Back Blings and Pickaxes, giving your avatar a musical flair.
- Godzilla and Kong: Godzilla appears as a difficult on-map boss, with indications of Kong’s presence via a new car decal. Their entrance is a reference to their great cinematic battles, which have now been incorporated into the Fortnite environment.
- Potential Unvaultings: Expect the reappearance of items such as the Shield Keg and Quad Launcher to disrupt the present gameplay dynamics.
- Leaked Content: There are rumors of other collaborations, such as OG Season 2 content, a Demon Slayer crossover, a Pixar’s Cars event, and possibly Mechagodzilla making an appearance.
As always, the fans and community are pretty excited about the new update, although they won’t be able to play the game when the server is under maintenance. But after that, it will be time to enjoy the new v33.20 with the all-new collaboration and updates.
