Which game will win it?
Only a month is left for The Game Awards and anticipation for the GOTY 2024 is rising slowly among the gamers. The nominated Games of the Year will be revealed on November 18, 2024, at 09:00 PT or 17:00 GMT.
Fans have already started their speculation regarding the best game of the year, which includes titles like Astro Bot, Black Myth Wukong, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and more. Let’s check out more details in this article.
GOTY 2024 predictions
The Gaming Awards are back, and many fans and gamers are excited for this event. Not only will we see numerous games receiving awards in their respective categories, but we’ll also witness many new game announcements.
However, everyone’s attention will undoubtedly focus on the main event: the Game of the Year 2024 award. Last year, Baldur’s Gate 3 took home the award, and it was undoubtedly the most deserving game of that year.
This time, though, choosing a winner is extremely challenging due to the exceptional quality of games released. Additionally, some games have been marred by controversy.
Without further ado, I’ll reveal the games with the highest chances of winning the award.
Here are the top contenders:
- Astro Bot
- Metaphor: ReFantazio
- Black Myth Wukong
In my opinion, Metaphor: ReFantazio should win GOTY 2024. This RPG game was just brilliant and has a rating of 94 on Metacritic. However, the Astro Bot will most likely win this award due to its more family-friendly approach.
Most fans are rooting for Black Myth Wukong to win the Game of the Year award, and for good reason – this game is truly exceptional. However, it will face stiff competition from Astro Bot and Metaphor: ReFantazio.
I’m also eager to see how Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Stellar Blade perform at this event. One thing is certain: many fans will be outraged if Dragon Age: The Veilguard receives a nomination. Frankly, this game was garbage.
Additionally, The Game Awards (TGA) has confirmed that expansion packs, new game seasons, DLCs, and remasters are also eligible for awards. This news will undoubtedly excite Elden Ring fans, particularly with the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
