Get classic PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4 themes
Sony celebrates three decades with PlayStation by allowing fans to customize their PS5 with some old opening themes and audio. This allows gamers to relive the nostalgia once again.
Sadly, this is not a permanent feature and will be available only for a limited time. Letâs check out more details in this article.
How to access the Classic Themes
Just follow these simple steps, to customize your PS5 with the classic PlayStations theme:
- Navigate to settings: On your PS5, navigate to the settings menu.
- Find the anniversary section: Search for the âPlayStation 30th Anniversaryâ option.
- Select Your Theme: You can select the following options under âAppearance and Soundâ: 30th Anniversary
- PlayStation 1
- PlayStation 2
- PlayStation 3
- PlayStation 4
- Each theme modifies the UI to mirror the design aspects and sounds of the selected console period.
Do remember that this feature is only for a limited period. Sony has not announced the duration yet. Till then, enjoy your time with some old themes. Fans are showing their love towards these and we might get a surprise from Sony to keep this permanently. (only a small chance though)

Reviving PlayStationâs legacy
These updates will let you transform your PS5 UI into the old console theme. From PS1 to PS4, you can customize it however you like the most. Each theme not only changes the background but also brings back the original sound effects of each console, providing an authentic retro feel.
The main feature is the PS1 bootup screen, replete with classic sounds, which now appears every time you turn on your PS5, replacing the PlayStation logo with â30th Anniversaryâ.
Fansâ reactions were strong and supportive towards this new feature and they loved the retro PS1 bootup setup on their PS5.
This upgrade not only acts as a celebration but also adds a degree of customization, allowing gamers to connect with the history of their favorite brand. If youâre a lover of PlayStationâs rich history or simply appreciate personalizing your gaming setup, now is the time to try out this unique feature.
