This live-service game from Haven Studios was first revealed in 2023
The recent rumored news about the upcoming live-service game from Haven Studios, Fairgames, has generated a lot of attention on social media.
This happened when industry analyst Michael Pachter suggested on his Pachter Factor podcast that this game had been cancelled by Sony. Later, he apologised and cleared some of his statements. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Clearing the air on Fairgames
Michael Pachter first commented and said the game was cancelled because of his misunderstanding.
Jade Raymond, Haven Studios’ founder, left the company earlier this year and because of this, he thought that the game was cancelled.
His assertion quickly spread on social media, but after speaking with writer Destin Legarie, he set the record straight:
“I misspoke. Said Jade was let go, and assumed it was cancelled. I have no info on the game at all. Feel free to quote this, I truly don’t know.”
So, for at least now, we can assume that Fairgames is not cancelled and still in development. We should not assume anything unless it comes directly from Sony or Haven Studios.

Know more about Fairgames
This is a Haven Studios debut title, first revealed in 2023, a live-service game that promises innovative heist-based multiplayer action.
Players would be able to team up for some ambitious heists and can even claim the riches from the other teams and players in a vibrant and competitive environment.
Some of the initial reports and rumors suggested that this was supposed to be released in 2025, but later pushed to 2026 as the testing began.
Thoughts
Everyone knows that the live-service games aren’t usually working well for Sony. After that Concord disaster, there is a pretty good chance that they pushed this game further back.
There is already an ongoing controversy with Marathon and it seems they don’t want to rush things with Fairgames.
Personally, I have no interest in this game and it pretty much looks similar to Concord. I have seen many fans on the internet to have the same views. Everyone wants more single-player titles instead of slop live-service games filled with microtransactions.
Has Fairgames been cancelled?
No, Michael Pachter retracted his cancellation claim, admitting he has no info, and the game is still in development.
Why did Michael Pachter think Fairgames was cancelled?
He assumed it was dropped after Jade Raymond’s departure from Haven Studios, but he later clarified his lack of evidence.
What is Fairgames about?
It’s a live-service shooter featuring innovative heist multiplayer action, developed by Haven Studios for PlayStation.
