Speculations & rumors have reached their peak!
All the rumors, speculations and excitement for Half Life 3 have reached their peak, even on Google Trends. Recently, the game’s 27th anniversary (November 19) passed by and sadly, nothing was announced.
Recently, many rumors and details have been pointing to The Game Awards 2025. Are we finally getting an official reveal next month? Let’s check out more details in this article.
Half Life 3 & Game Awards 2025
Insider Mike Straw from Insider Gaming has revealed some information about the game. According to him, the game might be slated to be announced by the end of 2025, not at the Game Awards.
However, he also mentioned that there is a possibility that Geoff Keighley can pull a miracle deal with Valve.
This is exactly what he mentioned in his tweets:
“As I said in the past, I was told it’s not supposed to be there. So, unless Geoff managed to get them to agree to something, I still think it’s a stand alone.”
So for now, we can consider this as a 50-50% chance for the reveal at the Game Awards, which is going to happen on December 11, 2025.
Half-Life 3 engine leaks & development
Previously, Valve insider Tyler McVicker, revealed the information about the Source 2 engine and the game’s development has reached its final stage. HLX is the codename for this project.
There were also some updates made to the engine, which also indicated that Valve must be getting ready for the announcement.
Insider, NateTheHate, who is also famous for his accurate details and leaks, also revealed that he is getting some information about Valve’s plans.

Recently, Valve officially revealed their Steam machine and now they might be looking forward to announcing Half Life 3 as well.
For now, Game Awards 2025 seems to be a pretty good choice to announce this game on the biggest stage. But nothing has been confirmed yet and we can only wait patiently for the details.
