The Darkin revives return in patch 25.23

The Darkin fans are super excited for the new League of Legends new champion ‘Zaahen.’ He is the 172nd champ and a glaive-wielding beast with a revive mechanic.

Dubbed “the Unsundered,” this top-lane menace (with juicy jungle potential) shattered the Worlds 2025 Grand Finals spotlight, sending Summoner’s Rift reeling.

His lore ties him to Xin Zhao as his desperate host after a brutal clash with Atakhan and Yunara (nod to the “Twilight’s End” cinematic). Let’s check out his abilities, revive mechanic and more in this article.

Zaahen Abilities: Revive, Rushes, and Relentless Pulls

Passive: Cultivation of War

Stack determination via attacks and abilities on champs to get the bonus AD. When it is full, you get amped AD and can revive. It’s more sustainable than the old Artox, dodging that cooldown nightmare.

Q: The Darkin Glaive

Your next attack can be a double slash with this. Bonus physical damage plus self-heal. He can recast this ability to deal bonus damage and knock up his target. Xin Zhao’s Q resonates loudly, but with glaive flair for duelist deals.

W: Dreaded Return

Zaahen thrusts the glaive forward, damaging your target, while also pulling them towards you. This is similar to Xin Zhao ‘W’ ability, but with additional pull. Pretty good for isolating carries or dodging ganks.

E: Aureate Rush

This ability is pretty similar to Kayn’s Q. You dash to a spot and whirl for AoE slashes. Can be used for a good combo.

Ultimate: R – Grim Deliverance

Soar up and crash down in a stab nova: Massive AoE damage dealt, with some of it healing off. High-risk, high-reward finisher. Imagine Aatrox R meeting divine judgment, resetting fights with that revive passive.

Zaahen release

He was revealed at the League of Legends Worlds 2025 and will be coming to live server on November 19, 2025 with Patch 25.23.
