Umbral 2.0: Bigger, better & more dangerous
In the latest gameplay trailer, the Umbral realm is defined as an open wound, a hideous world in which the boundary between life and death has been cut.
Umbral, rebuilt one, according to creative leadership, is not only more expansive, but more active and connected to the Axiom universe.
The game director James Lowe, has also explained that the two realms now bleed into each other. This creates a more seamless and unpredictable gameplay experience in Lords of the Fallen 2.
Players can expect the Umbral realm to be more like a survival horror. There will be constant tension, unpredictable enemies, attacks, and eerie environments.
This will also have distinct visual identities and biomes depending on the location. The system will continue to escalate the threats until you die or escape.
The dread mechanic will now be based on cause and effect. This will allow players more room for exploration.
Morphs are new enemies that develop into horrifying Umbral monsters. Umbral light is brought back as a more prolific device, new powers and weapons.
