Lost Soul Aside gets new release date & pre-orders details

Decade in the making

One of the highly anticipated fantasy RPG games from Ultizero Games, Lost Soul Aside, has been delayed. Now, it will be released on August 29, 2025.

The game was supposed to launch on May 30, 2025, alongside Elden Ring Nightreign. The delay was officially announced by game director and studio CEO Yang Bing on April 30, 2025.

Why is Lost Soul Aside getting delayed?

The game director and CEO, Yang Bing, shared the reason behind the delay with the fans in a statement on X:

“We’re truly grateful for the positive response we’ve received from players worldwide since announcing Lost Soul Aside. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we’re taking additional time to polish the game.”

It’s amazing that even taking a whole decade in the development, the studio is not rushing with the release and wants to deliver a top-notch, polished product for fans.

This game was first revealed in 2016 and it draws a heavy inspiration from Final Fantasy, Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry and the Bayonetta series.

A long road to launch

Published under Sony Interactive Entertainment’s China Hero Project, this game initially targeted a PS4 release.

But that version was sadly scrapped as the studio decided to put its focus on the PS5 and PC versions.

This game has been delayed multiple times before. The demo was shown in 2018 with a 2021 PS5 release, which was later delayed to 2024.

Now here we are, very close to launch and it has been once again delayed to August 29, 2025.

Pre-Order details

Pre-orders are currently live on the PlayStation Store and on Steam for PC.

Notably, the PC version requires a PlayStation Network (PSN) account, which Sony has reduced for other titles such as Helldivers 2 but has remained here, causing considerable fan displeasure with X.

Lost Soul Aside Standard Edition price is $39.99, with a Deluxe Edition at $59.99 offering bonus cosmetics and a digital artbook.
