The Mafia franchise fans are pretty excited right now as Mafia The Old Country has finally got the official release date through a Steam blog post.

It has been confirmed that the game will be released on August 8, 2025. This new update has provided a more concrete release window.

As announced by Hangar 13 and publisher 2K, the new title is shaping up to be one of the best they can offer for this franchise.

The release date was revealed on the Steam Blog Post, along with a developer panel at PAX East on May 8, 2025.

The post, spotted by X user @videotechuk_, stated: “Mafia: The Old Country is available August 8, 2025. Pre-order now for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.”

The game was first teased in Gamescom 2024 and its first teaser was revealed at Game Awards 2024 with a Summer 2025 release window.

What to expect from Mafia The Old Country?

The game is set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily. Players will explore the origins of organized crime through the story of Enzo Favara.

He is a young man rising from indentured labor to join the Torrisi crime family. This game was developed by Hanger 13.

They were the ones responsible for Mafia III and Mafia: Definitive Edition, so you can expect them to deliver once again.

Mafia The Old Country promises to deliver a linear, narrative-driven experience with great storytelling with the help of Unreal Engine 5.

This prequel, which features period-specific fighting with sawed-off shotguns and stiletto blades, returns to the narrower.

Story-focused foundations of the original Mafia games, in contrast to Mafia III’s open-world approach. It also features authentic Sicilian voice acting.
