This is sad news for gamers and Marvel fans as Skydance Games recently announced that their upcoming MARVEL 1943 Rise of Hydra has been delayed until early 2026.
Originally planned for late 2025, the delay intends to “add more polish” and provide “the best possible experience” for this WWII-era superhero action game. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Reason behind the delay
Skydance Games officially released a statement via X post, “Taking this additional time will allow us to add more polish, and make sure we give you the best possible experience, one that lives up to our vision.”
This is the reason why they have decided to shift the game release window to early 2026. The additional months will be used to fine-tune the single-player, story-driven adventure starring Captain America, Black Panther (Azzuri), Gabriel Jones, and Nanali, set in occupied Paris and Wakanda.
The developers hinted at “exciting things in store,” implying that a huge display, most likely at Summer Game Fest (June 2025), could reveal gameplay or a new video, after the 2.5-minute story trailer from GDC 2024.
MARVEL 1943 Rise of Hydra was first teased at D23 Expo 2022 and named at GDC 2024. This is a very ambitious project by Skydance Games and they don’t want to mess this up.
This game is directed by Amy Hennig (Uncharted), is powered by Unreal Engine 5. MARVEL 1943 Rise of Hydra trailer, fans can already see those amazing graphics and cinematic visuals.
It will have a dynamic combat with players able to control four heroes to fight against the Hydra forces.
Plaion was named publisher in July 2024, with co-president Julian Beak applauding their shared aim for a “multiplatform, worldwide release” on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Although fans are a little disappointed, they accept the delay gracefully as they know developers are trying their best to deliver a more finished project.
