Naughty Dog confirms second game in development alongside Intergalactic

Naughty Dog, the acclaimed studio behind The Last of Us and Uncharted, is currently working on an unannounced second title alongside Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

This was recently confirmed by Studio head Neil Druckmann and this has sparked a wide range of speculation among the fans.

Naughty Dog’s new game?

In an interview on the Press X To Continue podcast, Neil Druckmann revealed that the studio is currently working on a second project in addition to Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

He also revealed that he is playing a producer role, mentoring a separate team and providing feedback on the new project. Apart from this, nothing has been revealed.

Rumors regarding this mystery title originally surfaced in March, with sources indicating that it had been in production for three years.

While it is not The Last of Us Part III, conjecture is that Shaun Escayg, a veteran of The Last of Us and Uncharted, could direct.

Escayg previously worked as creative director and writer on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, fuelling speculation that the game will tie into the Uncharted universe.

There is also a pretty good chance that this might be a new IP as well. For now, we can only wait for further updates from Naughty Dog.

Insights from actor Stephen A. Chang

Actor Stephen A. Chang, who played Jesse in The Last of Us Part II, also spoke with Dexerto, where he revealed some interesting things about Naughty Dog.

Chang claimed that he has only recently begun work on the game and understands little about its plot, as performers are only given tiny, out-of-sequence script snippets—a procedure comparable to the making of The Last of Us Part II.

This extreme secrecy allows Naughty Dog to shield the game’s narrative from leaks, providing a spoiler-free experience for fans.
