All new Vault Hunters

Borderlands 4 is all set to launch on September 12, 2025, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Switch 2 and is going to introduce some new Vault Hunters.

Gearbox Studio revealed the new Vault Hunters and gameplay during the latest PlayStation State of Play event on April 30, 2025.

Let’s check out more details about the new hunters, their abilities, their backstory and more details which were revealed in the event.

Rafa the Exo-Soldier

This is the new Vault Hunter, which I mostly liked from the latest gameplay of Borderlands 4.

Rafa, the Exo-Soldier, comes from a microgravity environment that has damaged his bones and muscles, making planetary existence difficult without assistance.

He joined Tediore’s military, trading duty for an experimental exo-suit, which allows him to thrive.

This guy uses his exoskeleton-type suit to digistruct weapons like arm cannons and twin blades. Those twin blades are so bada**.

Vex the Siren

Vex, a Siren, is another new Vault Hunter which looks absoulety amazing. Not only her looks, but her abilities seen in the gameplay are amazing as well.

Her upbringing was difficult because of her Siren talents, which forced her to fend for herself from an early age. She has an emotional heart beneath her jaded exterior—even if she complains about it.

As seen in the new gameplay, she weilds Phase Energy, which can summon ghostly minions, including a spectral feline familiar named Trouble.

You can also enhance her elemental weapon with this phase energy. Her talent trees, such as Incarnate and Phase Familiar, allow her to develop phase wings or modify Trouble’s elemental damage in Borderlands 4.

Amon the Forgeknight

Amon, the Forgeknight, reminds me of Kratos. He escaped a tragic betrayal when his Vault monster-worshipping cult opened a Vault, resulting in the slaughter of everything he knew.

Now, he’s a tough beast-slayer with battle axes and a digital shield for close combat. For now, his abilities were not shown properly in the gameplay.

Harlowe the Gravitar

Harlowe is another new Vault Hunter in Borderlands 4 who is a former Maliwan combat scientist with a knack for innovation.

Her genius made her an outcast in her Traunt family, but she uses it to manipulate gravity with Maliwan force fields to control crowds on the battlefield.

Harlowe’s cheery temperament contrasts with Kairos’ harshness, making her a popular favorite due to her exuberance and elemental prowess in Borderlands 4.
