During BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard Entertainment officially revealed a brand-new STARCRAFT game, bringing one of its iconic franchises back into the spotlight.
After nearly two decades, we are getting a new game in the franchise. This time, it will not be a traditional real-time strategy (RTS) game but something different.

New STARCRAFT game
This was easily one of the biggest surprises of BlizzCon 2026. There were already some rumors and reports that Blizzard was trying to revive the franchise; now it has all become true.
In the new reveal trailer, we can see the Terran Dominion recruits trying to prepare for a battle ahead of the battle against the terrifying Zerg Swarm.
In the trailer, we see a soldier named HOLT, and the entire cinematic trailer is presented from his point of view. We see him train and prepare to become a soldier.
However, towards the end, he dies in the battle against the Zerg Swarm and we see the same process continuing with recruiting more soldiers and fighting against the terrifying enemy.
First STARCRAFT game since 2010
The last game in the series was StarCraft II, which originally launched in 2010. The game has received multiple expansions, and fans have waited nearly 20 years to get a new game in the franchise.
STARCRAFT game schedule for 2030
With all the hype and excitement, fans need to stay patient for now. Blizzard has announced that this game is planned for a 2030 release.
Apart from a cinematic trailer, Blizzard didn’t reveal anything about the game. So we can speculate that the game is in very early development and will take time before we get an actual gameplay showcase.
