One of the most anticipated hack-and-slash games, Ninja Gaiden 4, is set to release on October 21, 2025, with a price of $69.99.

Team Ninja director Masazaku Hirayama recently confirmed in an interview with Next-Play, that the main story will take approximately 15 to 20 hours to complete. Let’s find out more details in this article.

After completing the whole game, players would be able to unlock the legendary Master Ninja difficulty. This is for all the veteran players who seek the hardest difficulty.

There is also a lot of side content available in this game. Here’s what Hirayam said:

“There’s going to be a robust amount of content for players to sink their teeth into after they complete their first playthrough,”

There will be optional Purgatory missions, reminiscent of the Tests of Valor from earlier entries. This is where players must wager something valuable before tackling the challenge.

“It’s an evolution of that concept, designed to stoke the flames of challenge,” Hirayama explained.

Post-launch plans for Ninja Gaiden 4

In challenge missions, players will be able to face the story bosses to earn ranks, while “Death Wish” mode strips away upgrades for a raw, punishing experience.

Furthermore, the game includes objectives outside of standard boss fights that face you against groups of monsters under unique settings, deviating from the story’s pace.

There are also plans for Post-launch DLC that will introduce a new weapon for Ryu Hayabusa. More details on the DLC will be revealed later.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is all set to release on October 21, 2025, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. This franchise is returning after a very long time and fans are pretty hyped for it.
