Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders: Best Buy Canada leak sparks rumors

Deleted blog post fuels more speculation

Nintendo’s Switch 2 hype train has gotten more exciting as Best Buy Canada’s now-deleted blog post has sparked more rumors and speculation about the Switch 2 Pre-Orders.

Switch 2 Pre-Orders leaks

Best Buy Canada’s original blog post teased, “Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will open on April 2 at Best Buy Canada, giving you the chance to secure your console early.”

There was also a reminder for April 2 Direct at 6 AM PDT (6:30 PM IST). Insider Gaming grabbed on it, noting that the timing coincided with Nintendo’s major announcement event. The post disappeared hours later, leaving a 404 error and a “huh?” across X postings, including @ChitoGamingLive’s “keep your head on a swivel.”

According to Insider Gaming, they tried to contact Nintendo about this, but they have not received any word from them. Nintendo Direct on April 2 is going to showcase the full Switch 2 console on YouTube and Twitch live stream. Although not officially confirmed, we can expect the pre-order to start on the same day as well.

Switch 2 Edition Games

Aside from Switch 2 Pre-Orders news, Nintendo’s new Virtual Game Cards page (discovered by DualShockers) named “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games” in a disclaimer: “Switch 2 exclusives and Switch 2 Edition titles only load on Switch 2 systems.”

Pairing via local wireless and internet allows you to move these digital cards between two connected consoles per Nintendo Account.

This division—exclusives vs. Editions—has fans excited about remasters. Consider Breath of the Wild or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe enhanced for the Switch 2’s alleged 4K capabilities (per @NintendoLeaksX). Sony and Xbox have pulled this trick with the PS5 and Series X, so why not Nintendo?

Fans are pretty excited for the upcoming Nintendo Direct on April 2, 2025 and there is a chance that Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders might start from the same day.
