New season hype!
Blizzard is ready with Overwatch 2 Season 16, which is just around the corner and fans are pretty excited about the stadium mode and new hero.
Stadium, which is scheduled to debut on April 22, 2025, is billed as the “biggest game mode” that Blizzard has ever produced. Let’s check out more details in this article.
What is Stadium Mode in Overwatch 2?
The 5v5 best-of-seven (Bo7) competitive mode Stadium adds a special economy system.
Similar to mods seen in previous events like Trials of Sanctuary (2023) and Junkenstein’s Laboratory (2024), players can spend the Stadium coins they earn each round in the Armory to unlock and tweak hero abilities.
For the first time in Overwatch 2, you will also get the third-person perspective option in stadium mode. This is optional.
Along with new maps and game modes like Paintball and Payload Race, there will be 14 basic characters accessible at launch, with more to be released over time.

Freja Buffs for Season 16
The new DPS hero, Freja, is already getting some buff ahead of her debut in Overwatch 2 Season 16. This was decided during her trial from March 21 to 24, 2025.
Her win rate was 43%, which was pretty low during the trial test, so Blizzard has decided to slightly buff her.
Her Revdraw Crossbow has a wider max radius and more shot damage, increasing her firepower and kill potential.
She may now fire 12 shots before reaching max spread, up from 8. The goal of these modifications is to increase the allure of Freja.
This is a hero with a precision-based outfit and a high skill ceiling for both novice and expert players.
