Overwatch Anima Strike event all rewards, challenges, lore & more

The new Season 3 is underway!
Blizzard has officially launched Overwatch Season 3, bringing a wave of new content for players. Alongside the debut of new DPS, Shion, there is also an Overwatch Anima Strike event, which is a time-limited event.
This event is packed with rewards, gameplay challenges, and narrative progression, allowing players to uncover more details about the game’s ongoing lore.
Overwatch Anima Strike Event date
This event will be available from June 16, 2026, till July 6, 2026. It will provide players with a solid three weeks to complete the challenges and unlock all the rewards.
This is set across the newly introduced Neon Junction map and the event will take place in multiple locations. Players can easily progress through different paths while also trying to uncover the hidden story throughout their progress in this event.
More than 50 rewards
Its exclusive rewards track is the biggest highlight of the Overwatch Anima Strike event. Players can unlock more than 50 rewards by completing the challenges.
Some of the rewards include:
- Loot Boxes
- Shion Victory Pose
- Exclusive Sprays
- Name Cards
- Player Titles
- Additional Prestige Rewards
Once the primary reward track is complete, players can venture into a prestige track to collect even more cosmetic rewards.
The majority of challenges involve just getting players through the matches, but by using heroes such as Shion or Sojourn, they can get things done faster.
What is the new Overwatch lore?
This event puts a heavy focus on the lore and storytelling. As you unlock the nodes in the event, you gain access to additional lore entries that will expand the ongoing “Reign of Talon” storyline.
This time, the narrative is focusing on Tokyo’s Neon Junction, where the Hashimoto Clan is developing powerful Anima weapons.
Genji deliberately allowed himself to get captured while investigating their operations. Overwatch members got a distressed call from Kiriko, so they traveled to Tokyo to rescue him. They will also investigate to uncover the truth about the operations.
The plot also explores what happened to Kiriko’s father Toshiro Yamagami, who apparently is coerced into creating anima weaponry for the criminal mob.
When does the Overwatch Anima Strike event end?
The event runs from June 16, 2026, until July 6, 2026.
