In a recent interview with Edge Magazine, as reported by GamesRadar+, Associate directors Craig Littler and Will Kennedy explained that their team’s goal was to preserve the approachable combat for the fans that are returning from the previous games.
Rather than turning it into an overly complicated mechanic, they want players of all skill levels to enjoy the game without worrying too much.
The game will also introduce new mechanics that will reward precision and experimentation.
During combat players will be able to do to specific body parts of enemies. For instance, if someone shoots at an undead enemy’s leg, the undead is killed but crawls towards the shooter; if the player shoots at its head, the undead is killed, but wanders about and cannot attack effectively. These interactions are intended to add dynamism and creativity into battles.
