Zach Cregger has some new comments about the film
The fans are pretty excited for the upcoming Resident Evil movie, and Zach Cregger is responsible for bringing this movie to life.
He is very well known for his iconic work on Barbarian. The writer-director has dropped some new hints and updates about the film recently. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Zach Cregger’s vision for the franchise
In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Cregger shared his vision for the franchise. This time, the screenplay for the film will be original and unrelated to previous films.
Here’s what he said:
“That’s an original screenplay, by the way. It’s a weird story. I wrote it and I love the story. It has nothing to do with any of the other Resident Evil movies,” he shared. “If I do my job, it will feel fresh and edgy and weird.”
This also confirms his earlier comments from July, where he talked about capturing the essence of the original Resident Evil games in the films.
Cregger said:
“I’m trying to tell a story that just feels authentic to the experience you get when you play the games. I don’t think I’m breaking any major rules, but I also recognize that no matter what I do, people are going to come for me online.”
Despite his vision for the film, there is no doubt that some fans will still find some fault. Everyone wants the film to be as accurate as the games.

Resident Evil movie leaks
While many official details of the movie are still a mystery, there were some recent leaks from an insider Daniel RPK, who provided some information about the plot.
According to him, it follows the story of Bryan, a casual organ courier played by The Walking Dead’s Austin Amelio.
On a late-night run to Raccoon City General Hospital, he will navigate to Snowy Mountain pass & will accidentally strike a mysterious woman.
Miraculously surviving, she exhibits strange abnormalities, pulling Bryan into a nightmare outbreak of tentacle mutations and bio-engineered creatures.
Do remember that these leaks and updates about the Resident Evil movie are still not confirmed. Take this information with a grain of salt for now.
