God of War live action series will be adapting Norse Saga; Report

Two seasons are currently planned
The new information about God of War live action series has finally been dropped and fans are pretty hyped for it.
Most of the details were revealed by executive producer Ronald D. Moore (“Battlestar Galactica,” “Outlander,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”), who appeared at Comic-Con today to discuss his career.
Collider also further revealed that there will be 10 episodes for the first season. Let’s find out more details in this article.
God of War live action: Norse Saga
This is the big new fans! The God of War live action will be adapting the Norse Saga games instead of Greek Saga.
The main focus of the show, of course, will be Kratos and Atreus. The live action show tone will “emulate the tone of the game.”
The Game Director, Cory Barlog, is actively involved with the show. Also, remember that there is a new IP in development at Santa Monica with Cory as Director.
This is what Ronald D. Moore has to say about Cory:
“Cory Barlog is a genius. That’s not a word I throw around very much, but I’ve had several meetings with Cory, and you ask Cory, ‘Well, tell me about the backstory of this or how this works,’ and he just can talk because he holds it all in his head. And I usually pride myself about, as a showrunner, I can hold the season in my head. I know what the 10 episodes are, and I can tell you about them. Cory can tell you the whole thing in every possible way — all the mythology, how it connects one to the other, what the puzzles were, why they did this, and what that artifact did. It’s really impressive. I mean, it is like a gigantic novel, even bigger than the Outlander novels, which is a lot to digest.”
So far, two have been greenlit, and Season One will have 10 episodes. Scripts are currently being written and we might see the filming begin in early 2026.
Ronald also shared his thoughts about playing God of War games:
“I continue to try to play it … But it’s just a different thing … I lack the muscle memory of my thumbs. And so Kratos is fighting the troll and I’m constantly like, okay, which one’s the B button? No, I’m dead. It is that kind of thing. But I try”

Final Thoughts
As a fan, it’s kinda sad and disappointing to see that the Greek Saga won’t be adapted and I can understand that it would be too hard and difficult to do it.
There is also a pretty good chance that they might ruin it as well. The showrunners might show that as a flashback in the God of War live action series.
We fans just hope that they will stay true to the source material and with some good writing, CGI and Cinematography, God of War live action series might actually work.
