As we get closer to a new season, Psyonix has shown the future of Rocket League. They have finally shown the game running on Unreal Engine 6. This is the first look at the game and this long-awaited upgrade is expected to arrive in 2027.
The unveiling was done via a behind-the-scenes developer video, which shows some of the professional Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) players playing a part in the development of the new version by offering feedback in the game itself.

The developers recently confirmed that many RLCS pros participated in the closed playtest that was held in Cary, North Carolina, and Paris during June and August.
JSTN, Firstkiller, Archie, Zen, and others tested the game build on Unreal Engine 6, as the developers were looking forward to taking the feedback to improve the gameplay.
There were some players who first reported that there were some mechanics that were slightly different than the current version.
Some motions and advanced mechanics were somewhat delayed when tested early, Archie said. The development team is active in listening to user feedback and improving the game based on suggestions; however, Zen praised them for that.
Visual and interface improvements
There have been many noticeable improvements that come with Unreal Engine 6. Redesigned scoreboard, more detailed environment, improved lighting & upgraded car modes.
There is also a redesigned boost speedometer and this features a circular meter that easily represents the speed of the car much better.
Conclusion
The developers have once again confirmed that the Rocket League integration to Unreal Engine 6 is still scheduled for 2027. For now, they have not revealed the exact release date.
Psyonix will continue to take feedback from professional players to test future builds.
