ROG Xbox Ally: Microsoft & ASUS revealed powerful handheld gaming PCs

Xbox Games Showcase 2025 delivered a massive surprise by revealing the new ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X. This device is made from the partnership of Microsoft and Asus.

Xbox showcase not only featured this handheld device, but also the upcoming features of Play Anywhere, device specs, new games and more. Let’s check out more in this article.

ROG Xbox Ally key features and hardware specs

The ROG Xbox Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and a 512GB SSD, as well as a brilliant 7-inch 1080p display with a refresh rate of 120Hz for smooth, sharp images.

The ROG Xbox Ally X is a step up for serious gamers, featuring an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme CPU, 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM, a huge 1TB SSD, and an 80Wh battery for extended gaming sessions.

Both of these devices are expected to deliver top performance, just like Xbox new-gen consoles.

Availability and pricing

For now, ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will launch in the selected markets, including Australia, France, Japan, Singapore, the UK, and the US, with 21 additional countries to follow.

There is no information on whether it will be available in India on launch day. Stay tuned for further updates on this console with us for availability in India.

Microsoft has also not revealed any pricing on these consoles. However, I am sure these will be more costly than Nintendo Switch 2.

Microsoft has also fine-tuned Windows 11 for these handhelds to provide a boost to the battery and responsiveness.

Another amazing thing that Xbox announced in the showcase is that every new game from now on will be Xbox Play Anywhere. That means with a single purchase, you can play across Xbox consoles, PC and Xbox Ally.
