What’s next for the game?

GSC games have once again rolled out Stalker 2 1.1.3 patch notes. This patch resolves numerous serious bugs, including a significant bug in the story quest “The Road to the Foundation” that caused an important NPC, Richter, to vanish, ruining the gaming experience.

Also, there has been news about the game receiving a PS5 port or not. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Major key fixes in Stalker 2 Patch 1.1.3:

  • Story Mission Bug: Ensured Richter remained present during the “The Road to the Foundation” mission at Enerhetyk Palace of Culture.
  • Crash Prevention: Implemented a temporary fix to skip shader warm-up, reducing crashes during shader compilation.
  • Stability Improvements: Corrected several instances of ACCESS VIOLATION ERROR crashes, enhancing game stability.
  • Control Settings: Fixed a glitch where inverted axis settings were not saved post-restart, improving user experience.
  • Control Loss: Addressed an issue where players could lose control after a sequence of shooting, reloading, and examining artifacts.

This new update will not only polish the game but also make it more smoother to run and enjoy. For this year, everything has been completed, but GSC games have more plans for the upcoming 2025.

There will be more enhancements and more content for the game so fans can wait till then patiently. Fans of the franchise may also expect a next-generation update for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy, which will bring it up to date for Xbox franchise X/S and PlayStation 5.

No immediate PS5 port for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

Stalker 2 launch for Xbox and PC was a huge success, despite this, there are no plans for a PS5 port for now. This has been confirmed by the game director Grygorovych in an interview with Tech4Gamers.

“We were fully focused on developing (and now supporting) the PC and Xbox Series X/S versions,” Grygorovych explained. Sadly for PS5 owners, we can only hope to play Stalker 2 on PC for now.
