So far, we have seen the stylish combat, a young and amazing new protagonist and impressive visuals. In the first game, many players felt that the game lacked an open-world personality and that the story was not as impressive as its gameplay.

Based on the early impressions from SGF, it appears that developers have addressed those criticisms in the new game. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Stellar Blade Blood Rain new gameplay showcase reveals more lively world

During the Summer Game Fest 2026, SHIFT Up offered selected media outlets an extended gameplay and preview of the game.

These attendees got to see an extended gameplay demonstration that showcased the game’s opening moments.

According to members of Kinda Funny Gamescast, the new sequel world felt more vibrant and engaging compared to the original game.

In the preview, there was a sequence where mutants pursue the new protagonist Evei through a very densely filled and detailed area, which is filled with activity and atmosphere.

Those who saw the gameplay demonstration felt that this was far more lived-in and immersive than the original game.

This Stellar Blade Blood Rain opening sequence was also compared to the opening sections of Final Fantasy VII.

Combat still takes the main stage

Despite a more immersive and lively world, Stellar Blade Blood Rain combat stands out the most, just like the original title.
