A new sequel to Stellar Blade!
Shift Up has now finally revealed Stellar Blade Blood Rain, the sequel to the original title, at Summer Game Fest 2026. This brand-new chapter in the story is also going to introduce a new protagonist this time, Evie.
Rather than continuing the story with Eve, Blood Rain is going to take another route with a new protagonist, expanded lore and a darker narrative. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Evie takes centre stage in Stellar Blade Blood Rain
The new gameplay and story trailer introduced the new lead character, Evie, who seems to be embarking on a dangerous mission.
The trailer begins with Evie holding a weird bottle and a voice identified as Canna speaking about a mysterious energy known as “The Scarlet Sin.”
As the trailer goes on, we see her tracking an unknown group across the ruined urban landscape. Her investigation leads to chaos, brutal battles and the trailer showcases high intensity and fast-paced combat.
For now, Shift Up has not revealed any major story details or confirmed the release window for the game. The project is still in early development. However, we can expect this game to launch in late 2027 or early 2028.

Despite being in early development, Stellar Blade Blood Rain gameplay and trailer looked absolutely amazing and pretty smooth.
Another interesting part is that Shift Up will self-publish this game. This also means that it is not going to be a PlayStation exclusive at the start, like the previous title.
