Revamped visuals and puzzles
Microids have suddenly announced Syberia remastered. This will take beloved Benoît Sokal’s 2002 point-and-click adventure and turn it into a modernized version.
The game is scheduled to launch in Q4 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. This remaster is crafted by Studio Virtuallyz and Microids Studio Paris. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Syberia remastered: Modernized Classic
This game was originally launched in May 2002, scoring a 90/100 Metacritic score, which is a pretty solid score for a game.
The game tells the story of Kate Walker and her automaton companion Oscar, who are on a quest to find the mythical island of Syberia.
The remaster rebuilds scenes and characters in 4K images, using Unreal Engine 5 to provide a colorful steampunk style, as seen in early pictures.
Puzzles, a genre staple, have been updated for “smoother, more intuitive” gameplay, resolving clumsy mechanisms while maintaining complexity, according to Microids.
A revamped user interface, enhanced controls, and seamless navigation improve accessibility for both newbies and veterans.
Microids also said that they are going to emphasize the “contemplative and narrative soul” intact in Syberia remastered.
They want to showcase Kate’s emotional journey through Sokal’s clockwork world. According to Eurogamer, the melancholy soundtrack by Inon Zur reappears, remixed for current audio, adding to the immersive experience.

Microids has also promised the fans that they can expect the gameplay footage by Gamescom 2025, where they will reveal the revamped puzzles and updated model.
Priced at an estimated $39.99, based on The World Before’s launch, the remaster will support English, French, and German voiceovers.
Since the announcement, the game already has 500,000 wishlists on Steam and this is only going to grow more.
The remaster builds on Microids’ success with Syberia 3’s 800,000 sales, according to GameRant, and wants to expose Kate Walker to a new generation ahead of a hypothetical Syberia 5, which is teased in Microids’ 2025 roadmap.
