More emphasis on the Parkour system

There is some good news for Assassin’s Creed fans, as recently, the Ubisoft Quebec and AC Shadows’ associate game director revealed that the upcoming game will focus more on Parkour.

The players and fans were quite upset and disappointed with the latest game’s Parkour system. It is time to go back to the roots and focus more on Parkour. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Assassin’s Creed RPG Parkour problems explained

  • Verticality Loss: Open worlds flattened freerunning—less leaps, more walks.
  • Stiff Feel: Animations clunky; no seamless chains like Ezio/Ezio era.
  • Post-Launch Fixes: Shadows/Mirage patches smoothed, but “not enough.”

Simon Lemay-Comtois recently had an interview with GamesRadar, where he revealed that fans were quite upset with the Parkour in the recent games.

Even though they have given out a massive update that focuses on Parkour in Shadows and Mirage, it’s still not enough and damage has already been done.

We’re trying to rectify that in post launch with Shadows and push that narrative internally to say, parkour matters. Let’s really push parkour forward.

But now, they are going to focus on Parkour as a main pillar in their upcoming games. They have missed the mark with the new games, but now hope that the upcoming games will be different.

Final Thoughts

This means that we are going to see a more improved and better version of Parkour in the upcoming Black Flag Remake, Jade, Hexe and other Assassin’s Creed games in the future.

In other news, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows DLC has missed the mark and Ubisoft has thrashed their plans for the 2nd DLC. Even the new Attack on Titan collaboration received a huge backlash from the fans.
