Steam Machine pricing: What to expect in 2026?

This machine is 6 times more powerful than the Steam Deck. The official pricing range for this product has not been revealed by Valve yet.

But recently, Linus Tips revealed that when he asked about the console price range and mentioned $500, the energy in the room wasn’t great and he was disappointed. This clearly indicates that this machine will surely cost more than $500.

Now Valve’s Pierre-Loup Griffais, recently talked about the pricing on the Friends Per Second Podcast. According to him, the price for Steam Machine would be in line with the PC that provides the same level of performance.

I think that if you build a PC from parts and get to basically the same level of performance, that’s the general price window that we aim to be at.

The company is working quite hard on refining and there are still many factors that are fluctuating the price range for this machine.

Valve’s goal is to provide a machine with good performance.

“Things like the small form factor and I think the noise level that we achieved or lack thereof is really impressive, and we’re excited that the people are going to find out how quiet this thing is.”
