The modding scene in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is going to be more amazing with the official mod support, announced on May 12, 2025, by game director Dmitry Grigorenko.
The hit third-person shooter, which has sold over five million copies since its September 2024 release, now includes the Integration Studio tools used by Saber Interactive’s developers.
There is also some tease regarding, “Fishing With Daddy Calgar” mini-game along with the mod announcement. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Full mod support in Space Marine 2
Dmitry Grigorenko released a statement on the Discord: “We’re releasing the official Integration Studio for public use. This is the exact same editor we use internally for all gameplay development.”
Modding was previously limited, with gamers manually modifying files and risking problems.
The Integration Studio streamlines level, AI, ability, and UI editing, allowing for the creation of dramatic campaigns and new game types.
Modder Tom, who created the Astartes Overhaul mod, told IGN, “We’re entering a golden age of modding.” To avoid server troubles, mods are confined to private lobbies; this change was applied in December 2024 after public session crashes.

Fishing with Daddy Calgar
There was also excitement among the fans related to the new concept art reveal for a Fishing With Daddy Calgar mini-game, featuring Ultramarines Chapter Master Marneus Calgar in Space Marine 2.
Modders are racing to make this a reality, as mentioned on X by @Knoebelbroet, despite its hilarious nature.
This playful nod highlights Saber’s openness to fan creation, with modders aiming to include factions such as Tau and Necrons, according to TheGamer.
With 83% positive Steam rating and 8/10 IGN score, this game definitely highlights to be one of the best in the franchise.
The best part for the fans is that Space Marine 3 is already in development and the latest official mod support is going to make fans happier as they spend more time in Space Marine 2.
