Capcom really surprised fans and gamers with a bait and switch for the Resident Evil Requiem reveal. Fans got the whole +3 minutes trailer along with the release date.

The game is officially launching on February 27, 2025 and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It also introduces a new female lead character who has a connection to this story. Let’s check out more details in this article.

New female lead: Grace Ashcroft

Meet Grace, who is the new female lead for Resident Evil 9 and she is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak.

In the trailer, we see how she was told to go back and investigate Raccoon City by her superior in the FBI. The trailer also showcases some of the flashbacks of her mother.

The new trailer heavily showcased Grace’s story, however, there were some hints about another famous character. It is none other than Leon Kennedy.

According to Dusk Golem, who is famous for horror game updates, Leon Kennedy is the main character of this game.

Also, Raccoon City is not the primary location and we will see more about Leon later. It could be seen as both are main characters and probably Leon will become more prominent during the later stages of the game.

Know about the Resident Evil 9 story

The game features Grace Ashcroft, a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent. She soon finds her employer, Nathan, in his office.

Her next task is to investigate a crime scene at the Remwood Hotel. The trailer then depicts flashbacks to frightening occurrences.

Nathan admits that the place is the same as the murder of her mother eight years ago. However, it may be time for Grace to confront her history.
