Fans are quite upset with many things!

Rockstar Games has officially revealed the pricing, Ultimate Edition details and pre-orders for their upcoming blockbuster title, GTA 6.

Although the excitement for this game is on a whole other level right now, several decisions from Rockstar Games have attracted a lot of hate and fans are quite upset about it.

GTA 6’s $80 Standard Edition has fans worried

The fans and gamers are not upset with the $80 and $100 price tag for the game. Instead, their worries lie in another aspect.

Almost everyone is now worried that the companies and publishers will have the chance to raise their prices for their AAA games. This is surely going to influence many companies.

On social media and forums, you can see everywhere that fans have been requesting other developers not to follow this trend because they are not Rockstar or their game is not GTA.

Imagine paying $80 or $100 for Concord, Star Wars Outlaws, Dragon Age Veilguard, South of Midnight, Outer Worlds 2, etc.

Ultimate Edition locks some stores & features

Another major criticism revolves around the $99.99 GTA 6 Ultimate Edition, which includes several in-game exclusive locations and customization options.

Players who purchase the Ultimate Edition receive access to exclusive vehicle modification shops, a dedicated hair salon, a tattoo shop, a clothing store, special side missions, premium vehicles, weapons, and cosmetic items.

Many players don’t like this idea of locking some side missions, exclusive shops, customization and more features behind a paywall.

GTA+ Pre-Order bonus comes with Auto-Renewal

Rockstar Games is offering one free month of GTA+ as a pre-order bonus for both editions. This is a good reward; however, this extra subscription comes with an auto-renewal membership unless you cancel it manually.

This is quite sneaky, as if you don’t pay attention to this, you might get charged after your free month trial is over.

No physical disc at launch for GTA 6

Last but not least, the biggest criticism of the game is that the physical version of GTA VI will not include a physical disc. Instead, it will contain a download code.

This might help Rockstar to control the early leaks happening before the launch, but fans are not happy with the digitalization of the game.

However, new reports suggest that the game might get a physical disc launch in December 2026.

Why are fans criticizing GTA 6’s $80 price?

Many fans believe the higher price could encourage other publishers to increase the cost of future AAA games beyond the current $70 standard.

Does the GTA+ pre-order bonus require payment?

The first month is free, but the subscription automatically renews unless you cancel it before the billing period begins.

Will GTA 6 get a physical disc version?

Not at launch. Current physical editions include only a download code, although reports suggest a disc version may arrive after release.
