What we know so far

Bethesda’s surprise shadow drop for Oblivion Remastered has made the fans crazy. The game is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

However, many fans want to know whether this remastered version will be available on Switch 2. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Current availability of Oblivion Remastered

As of now, Oblivion Remastered is only available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Xbox Game Pass. There is official word about whether it will come to Switch 2 or not.

The Standard Edition will cost you $49.99 and $59.99 for the Deluxe Edition, which includes new quests, Dagon Armors, exclusive weapons, and horse armor.

Virtuos’ remaster contains Unreal Engine 5 visuals, reworked combat with improved animations and effects, and a modernized UI, resulting in over 100,000 concurrent Steam players quickly after release.

The remastered version is not part of the Switch 2 lineup. However, credible leaker eXtas1s claims that a port is in development.

He recently said, “I have confirmation that active work is underway for Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2.”

However, Bethesda Studios has not confirmed anything yet. But there is a very good possibility.

Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Special Edition already exists on Switch. So, there is a pretty good chance for Oblivion Remastered as well for Switch 2.

How will it perform?

The Switch 2, with its enhanced hardware (allowing 4K output via dock and a 7.9″ 1080p screen), is capable of handling Oblivion Remastered well.

Insiders anticipate that the next Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for Switch 2, set to release in 2025, will run at 30 FPS, however, some fans hope for 60 FPS due to the upgraded chip’s capabilities.

Oblivion Remastered’s 120 GB file size and Unreal Engine 5 requirements may necessitate optimization, but the Switch 2’s 141 GB/s bandwidth (a 4.5x increase over its predecessor) implies it’s possible.

Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5, 2025, with pre-orders going live from April 24, 2025. Are you playing Oblivion right now?
