How to pre-order Nintendo Switch 2 in Canada & USA?

The new Nintendo Switch 2 is all set to launch on June 5, 2025 and soon the pre-orders are going to go live. They were initially supposed to go live on April 9, 2025.
However, because of the recent tariff issue in the US, the pre-orders have been delayed and now they will start on April 24, 2025.
Here’s your guide to securing a pre-order in the US and Canada, including where to buy and costs.

Pre-Order Process for US and Canada
To place a pre-order directly from Nintendo, log in to My Nintendo Store (US) or Nintendo Canada with your Nintendo Account.
Do remember that you must be 18 years old in order to sign up. Priority goes to Nintendo Switch Online users with at least 12 months of paid membership and 50+ gameplay hours as of April 2, 2025.
Invitations sent beginning May 8, 2025, are valid for 72 hours and non-transferable. After priority registrants, remaining invitations are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Retail Pre-Order start times
Retail pre-orders will also open on April 24, 2025, at major stores:
- Walmart, Target, Best Buy: 9:00 PM PDT (April 23) / 12:00 AM EDT (April 24)
- GameStop: 8:00 AM PDT / 11:00 AM EDT (April 24)
GameStop also accepts in-store pre-orders when stores open on April 24 and will hold midnight launch events on June 4 at 9:00 PM PDT, with allegedly 100 units per store—far more than average console debuts. Amazon has yet to confirm pre-order pages, but stay tuned.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders for India
Unfortunately, there are no options to pre-order the Switch 2 in India yet. You might be able to secure it via the grey market on the launch day.
