A Korean game based on the Joseon era

Nexon Games, in collaboration with developer LoreVault, has recently announced its new game, Woochi the Wayfarer, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

This will be a single-player action-adventure game set in Korea’s historic Joseon era. For now, the release window remains under wraps and will be announced later.

Know more about Woochi the Wayfarer

Nexon Games CEO Park Yong-hyun has shared his thoughts about the game via Gematsu:

“Woochi the Wayfarer offers a fresh, culturally rich experience with a story that resonates globally. Inspired by the classic Korean novel The Tale of Jeon Woochi, the game follows the magical Dosa, Jeon Woochi, as he battles injustice with wit and power.”

This game is made on Unreal Engine 5. Fans can expect some stunning visuals, which will bring the historical Joseon fantasy world to life.

There will be traditional folktale monsters and a haunting soundtrack by acclaimed composer Jung Jae-il, known for Parasite and Squid Game.

They recently released the cinematic trailer, which showcased the historical Joseon fantasy world. In the trailer, we see the mysterious shaman, Myoan, chanting an incantation against Woochi’s shadowy figure in a dense forest. Next, we can see both of them getting ready for an epic showdown.

LoreVault is going above and beyond to honor Korea’s legacy. The team is working with Korean literary and music experts, as well as studying cultural locations across the country, to recreate the Joseon era in precise 3D.
