Xbox Mythic Achievement guide: How to unlock, requirements & track your progress

New Platinum-style trophy for XBOX
Xbox has now officially revealed the Xbox Mythic Achievement. This is a brand-new feature that will reward the player for fully completing a game’s achievement list. Xbox players can treat this trophy pretty similarly to the PlayStation Platinum trophy.
The new update also brings back the tracking tools, progress bars, and retroactive support for eligible Xbox 360 and modern titles. Let’s check out some more details in this article.

How can players unlock Xbox Mythic Achievement?
According to Xbox, players will earn the Mythic Achievement by unlocking every original achievement in a game. If you have unlocked and completed all the base-game achievements, then you will receive the Mythic status.
Another important thing to note is that DLC and post-launch achievements are not required for this.
You can also get the Mythic Achievement if you’ve already earned the base achievements of a supported game, Xbox will award the achievement once your console has been updated, as long as you’re a member of the Xbox Insider program.
Games older than that are supported too; Xbox has announced that Mythic Achievements will go back to older games that qualify, all the way back to the Xbox 360 days.

New Progress tracking feature
Aside from the Xbox Mythic Achievement, XBOX has also introduced several new ways for players to monitor the completion progress.
Every game’s achievements page will now have a progress bar at the top. This will make it easy to see how close you are to earning your Mythic Achievement for the game.
Players can view a list of achievements that have not been unlocked and are still available in the game. For those wanting to know what achievements count for Mythic, they are clearly labeled as “add-on”, which is added after launch.
Dedicated gaming tab
There is also a dedicated gaming tab, which will bring the achievement-related information together in one place.
This new section highlights Gamerscore milestones, completed achievements, and Mythic Achievements across your library.
Gears of War: E-Day is going to become the first game to launch with Xbox Mythic Achievement support. The game will release on October 6, 2026.
What is an Xbox Mythic Achievement?
An Xbox Mythic Achievement is awarded when you unlock all original base-game achievements for an eligible title, similar to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy.
Do DLC achievements count toward Mythic Achievements?
No. Only the original achievements included with the base game count toward earning Mythic status. DLC and post-launch achievements are excluded.
How can I track my Mythic Achievement progress?
Players can monitor progress using the new achievement progress bar, filter original achievements, and view Mythic status through the new Gaming tab, Guide, and achievement pages.
