The anticipation is particularly high for the four major championships.

The PGA Tour unveiled the highly anticipated details of its 2024 schedule, shedding light on the venues, purses, and changes set to shape the upcoming season.

The 2024 season will feature 36 events in the FedEx Cup regular season, including eight designated “signature” tournaments with limited fields and impressive $20 million purses. These events will run alongside the traditional four majors and the Players Championship. Additionally, the schedule will include 18 full-field tournaments and five “additional” events, providing a diverse and exciting lineup for golf enthusiasts.

Among the notable changes is the introduction of 36-hole cuts for three player-hosted tournaments – the Genesis Invitational hosted by Tiger Woods, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and the Memorial hosted by Jack Nicklaus. The top 50 players and those within 10 shots of the lead after the first two rounds will advance, competing for a $4 million winner’s purse.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will undergo a significant transformation in 2024, becoming a signature tournament with only 80 players and exclusive venues at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill. Celebrities and amateurs will participate only on Thursday and Friday, adding a unique twist to this iconic event.

The FedEx Cup Playoffs champion is set to receive a substantial increase in prize money, with the winner taking home $25 million, up from $18 million in the previous year.

Addressing concerns about entry into lucrative tournaments, the PGA Tour has introduced new categories beyond the top 50 FedEx Cup standings and top 30 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). The “Next 10” includes the top 10 members, not otherwise exempt, from the current FedEx Cup standings.

The “Swing 5” consists of the top five FedEx Cup points earners, not otherwise exempt, from the swing of five full-field and additional events leading up to each signature event.
