Hosts occupy the top spot in the points table

The Asian Champions Trophy 2023 is getting to the business end of the tournament. All the teams have played four matches so far in the groups stages. The top four teams after the final group game shall progress to the semi-finals scheduled to be held on 11th August followed by the final on 12th. Hosts India are currently sitting pretty on the top of the points table with ten points followed by Malaysia with nine points.

The Indian team is set to play arch rivals Pakistan in the final group match and a win here will help India consolidate the top spot. Pakistan did not have a good start to the tournament losing the opening match to Malaysia. However, the three time champions made a strong comeback and are currently inside the top 4 in the points table.

Home team on the other hand, have won three matches and drew one against Japan. The blue colts won a close encounter against defending champions South Korea (3-2) to regain back their top spot from Malaysia. It is going to be an electrifying match match between the long time rivals and win to either teams shall boost their confidence going into the knockouts.
