The Indian men’s hockey team will look to arrest their disastrous campaign in the ongoing Men’s FIH Pro League 2025-26 when they face current World and Euro Champions Germany in their latest Pro League match.
Craig Fulton’s side started their European leg of the Pro League with a close 2-3 loss against the Netherlands on Sunday, extending their winless run in the league to nine matches. They are second from bottom in the standings, with just four points—all coming from drawn matches and a penalty shootout win.
World No. 5 Germany, have fared a little better and are sixth in the points standings with three wins and 11 points from nine matches.
They held the hosts Netherlands to a draw in their previous match and then won the shoot-off that followed. Germany’s last straight-out victory came against Pakistan in February.
In the Pro League, this will be the ninth meeting between Inia and Germany, with the former winning six of those and losing only twice.
The match will also see veteran midfielder Manpreet Singh make his 413th appearance for the Indian national hockey, surpassing Dilip Tirkey as the player with most outfield appearances for India.
