India vs Netherlands head-to-head: What is the H2H record between India and Netherlands in FIH Men's Hockey World Cup?
India are yet to win a match against the Dutch in World Cups
The Indian men’s hockey team have secured their spot in the second round of the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2026, and now what awaits the team is a clash with an opposition that has historically given them nightmares at this event.
The Harmanpreet Singh-led side finished second in Pool D after a 3-1 win over Wales, a 2-4 defeat to England, and a gritty 5-3 win over Pakistan at Wagener Stadium.
That result puts them into Pool E for the second round, alongside England and the top two from Pool A, Netherlands and Argentina.
The Netherlands, on the other hand, cruised through the group stage with a perfect record, beating New Zealand, Argentina and Japan to claim the top spot.
India will carry zero points into the group after their loss to England, while Netherlands and England start with three each from their pool-stage draw against one another.
It sets up a brutal run for India, who are set to meet Netherlands on August 22, then Argentina on August 24, with only the top two from Pool E advancing to the semi-finals.
