The Men’s Hockey Asian Champions Trophy 2026 is taking place in India from October 27 to November 5. A total of six teams—India, China, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea and Bangladesh—are participating in the annual competition.
Hosts India are the two-time defending champions also the most successful team in the competition’s history with five titles to their name. South Korea (1) and Pakistan (3) are the only other two teams to win the tournament.

Pakistan, who are the second most successful nation in the tournament, pulled out of this year’s event citing safety issues after initially writing to the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) to host the tournament outside India. Bangladesh were eventually announced as their replacement.
The tournament is usually held annually but was cancelled in 2025.
With just six nations participating, the tournament will follow a round-robin format. All six teams will face each other in the league phase, with the top four teams then advancing to the semi-finals.
All league phase matches will be played at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar while the Olympian Balbir Singh (Senior) International Hockey Stadium in Mohali will play host for the knockout round matches.
