The Pro Kabaddi League introduced the Golden Raid to decide the winner.
The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 10 after gruelling two months of non-stop action has finally reached the playoffs, where six teams will battle in the respective eliminators and qualifiers. In the league stage, if a match finished in a tie then both the teams were awarded three points each. But what happens if the match ends up in a tie in the playoffs? Which team will advance to the next stage and which team will go home?
What happens if a match is tied during playoffs?
- 5 RAIDS PER TEAM
- BOTH TEAMS TO FIELD 7 PLAYERS
- TEAM THAT RAIDS FIRST IN MATCH TO RAID FIRST IN TIE BREAKER
- BAULK LINE BECOMES BAULK+ BONUS LINE
- NO OUT OR REVIVAL. ONLY POINTS SCORED WILL COUNT
- 5 DIFFERENT RAIDERS TO RAID AS PER PRE-DECIDED ORDER
What happens if a match finishes in a tie even after extra time?
If teams remain inseparable even after extra time during the playoffs, then a Golden Raid will decide the winner.

What are the rules for a Golden Raid?
1. The most imporant rule change is that the baulk line will be considered as the bonus line as well. In regular matches, the baulk line (white) is used to legitimate the raid but in a golden raid, it is used as a bonus line. That is during a golden raid if the raider succeeds in crossing that line, his team gets a point. However, a bonus point will not be awarded if the raider crosses the baulk line after a defender touches him.
2. After crossing the baulk line any touches the raider gets will be added to his total points on the raid. Only the total points scored by the raider are counted during the golden raid. If points are tied after the first team completes their Golden Raid, then the second team gets a chance to attempt their Golden Raid. If the player raiding first scores even one point and crosses the mid-line, their team will win the game.
3. If any player receives a suspension during the tiebreaker or during the regular match, they are not allowed to be on the mat during the Golden Raid. Therefore, their team will have to play with fewer players. The number of players that are sitting out will directly be added to the oppositions score.
3. If two teams are tied after the golden raid is complete, then there won’t be any subsequent raids. A coin toss will then be conducted to decide the winner.
