Asian Women's Kabaddi Championship 2025: Defending champions India will face arch-rival Iran in final

India entered the final of the Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025 after defeating Nepal in the semi-finals.
The defending champions, Team India, will be gunning for their fifth 6th Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025, as they take on Iran in the finals of the 6th Asian Kabaddi Championships. This was no surprise as the top two favourites went into the clash for the title.
As expected, the journey to the finals has been smooth for both teams, both teams secured their semifinal spots on the first day of the competition. The league matches continued on Day 2 to decide their semifinal opponents. India began the day with a match against Malaysia in the morning session.

It was yet another dominating display of Kabaddi as the four-time champions bettered their win margins from the first day with a scoreline of 73-19. The second game had less impact as the losing team had to face India. Iran was up for the task against Nepal as they ran past them to finish top of Pool B with two wins from two matches.
The final league game had a huge impact, as the winner would take the final semifinal spot. Bangladesh showed what experience can do on a big day as they made light work of their opponents Thailand to book their semifinal date against Iran. Both semifinals were one-sided and happened in the evening session on Friday.

India lived up to the tag of favorites against Nepal as they stream rolled past their neighbours. The scoreline of 56 -18 doesn’t really explain how dominating India was on the day. It was Business as Usual for the Hosts, Iran, who beat Bangladesh 41-18. Iran made it to their third finals in the history of Asian Championships and will be gunning for their maiden title.
India will start as favourites in the final and look to repeat the result when the tournament happens at the same venue as last time. Incidentally, it was Iran that was the victim of India’s dominance when Tehran hosted the event in 2007. India will not take Iran lightly as they beat India to win the 2018 Asian Games final. Saturday promises to be a great day with some brilliant Kabaddi action.
