Asian Women's Kabaddi Championship 2025: India's full schedule, results, squad & pool

The Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025 will run for three days in Iran.
Team India will be in Tehran, Iran, to defend their 6th Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025, having won the previous edition in 2017. India has been grouped with Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia in Pool A. India will start as favorites for the tournament that has become a seven-team event after Chinese Taipei pulled out at the last minute.
The competition will run for three days, with the first two days divided into morning and evening sessions. India will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on the first day of the competition on March 6th. The defending champions will play this game at 2 PM IST, which will be the last game of the first session.
India will be back to fight against Thailand in the final match of the day in the evening session. This match is slated to start at 8 PM IST on the same day. India has the upper hand over Thailand, having dominated them in the group stages of the 2023 Asian Games. India will finish their campaign in the group stages with a match against Malaysia.
India’s third and final group game will be held on the second day. The defending champions are expected to top the group with three wins and could face Nepal or Iraq in the semifinals, which is scheduled for the evening session on March 7. The final is scheduled to happen on March 8th, and they are likely to face Hosts Iraq in the finals.

Sonali Vishnu Shingate will lead the Indian Women’s team, She is making a comeback into the Indian team. She was sensational in the Senior National Women’s Kabaddi Championships, leading Indian Railways to the title by winning the point in the Golden Raid. Sonali will get support from Pooja Kajla, Nidhi Sharma, and Pooja Narwal in the raiding department.
Jyoti Thakur, Sakshi Sharma, Bhavana Devi, and Ritu will lead the defensive unit. She will also have the support of Vice-Captain Pushpa Rana, whose all-around skills will be key for India’s chances. The performance of the Indian players will be closely monitored as the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup is slated to happen in India later this year.
