The 2nd national coaching camp will be held from June 8 to July 7.

The Kabaddi world is relatively quiet right now, with no major tournaments taking place in either the domestic or international circuit. However, this is also the year of the Asian Games, which means preparations for the event are in full swing.

Earlier, 45 players were announced as probables for the first national coaching camp ahead of the Asian Games in both the men’s and women’s categories. However, that number has now been reduced to 29 players being selected for the second national coaching camp.

The selectors are focusing on players with better form and fitness, and these players will be part of the camp, showcasing their skills in front of the selectors. Eventually, the squads for the Asian Games will be selected from this pool of players.

The Asian Games remain one of the most prestigious events in international kabaddi. The Indian Kabaddi teams won gold medals in both the men’s and women’s categories in 2023, with Pawan Sehrawat and Ritu Negi leading their respective sides.

The Indian teams will be looking to win another set of gold medals at this year’s event. On that note, let’s have a look at the 29 players announced in both categories for the coaching camp.

Raiders: Ashu Malik, Naveen Kumar, Devank Dalal, Pankaj Mohite, Sachin Tanwar, Arjun Deshwal, Rakesh Sungroya, Aditya Shinde, Ayan Lohchab, Ajit Chouhan, Shivam Patare.

Defenders: Rahul Sethpal, Gaurav Khatri, Yogesh Dahiya, Shubham Shinde, Ankit Jaglan, Deepak Sankar, Nitesh Kumar, Sumit Sangwan, Sunil Malik, Deepak Rathee, Surjeet Narwal, Parvesh Bhainswal, Jaideep Dahiya, Ajit Pawar.

All-rounders: Pawan Sehrawat, Aslam Inamdar, Bharat Hooda, Neeraj Narwal.

These players will be part of the coaching camp, which will be held from June 8 to July 7.

This list includes:

Raiders: Pooja Narwal, Anu Kumari, Pooja Kajala, Nikita Kumari, Simran Kamboj, Sakshi, Karthika Ramesh, Sonali Shingate, Raj Rani, Sanju Yadav, Nidhi Sharma, Archana.

Defenders: Ritu Negi, Bhavna Thakur, Ritu Sheoran, Muskan Sharma, Sabhai Gadhavi, Pinki Roy, Priya, Champa Thakur, Manisha Kumari, Riya Kumari, Suman Sahu, Jyoti, Ritu Mitharwal, Tamanna.

All-rounders: Pushpa Rana, Renuka Choudhary, Jyoti Thakur.

Their coaching camp will also be held simultaneously from June 8 to July 7.
